Revised Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS)


The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has released revised preliminary FIRM maps for Snohomish County for review. The revised FIRM maps reflect recent engineering studies and other updated mapping information. These maps are used by mortgage lenders for flood insurance requirements and by communities for development regulations.

The revised maps are going through a public review and appeal process before being adopted. If you believe the mapping (for maps see links below) to be inaccurate for your property or you have any other questions or concerns, an open house meeting is being offered.

How is your property affected?

To find your property on the FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps - go to the link below and use the following steps.

1. Visit the Webmap created by the Washington State
     Department of Ecology
         WA Department of Ecology Map
2. Click on the "Details" link - This will eliminate some 
    of the details and make your map larger.
3. Type in your address. Once the street address is
    entered the program will suggest the City for you.
    And you can now check the details regarding your
    property. Within the "Search result" you have the 
    option of seeing more results.
