Terrace Ridge Park

4600 242nd Street SW

Acquired through an easement from Seattle City Light in 1966, Terrace Ridge Park extends 6 acres under the power lines in the southeast area of the city. Terrace Ridge Park features play equipment, water fountain, walking paths and open grassy hillsides.

History

The easement for Terrace Ridge Park was provided in response to a request from Claude Elerding, President of the Hi-Line Park Association formed by the residents of the adjacent housing developments. The association subsequently organized work parties to clear the land and install the original playground equipment.
