Lakeview Trail Ribbon Cutting Event
In October of 2015, over 60 city and elected officials, neighbors and guests peddled or strolled to the trail to celebrate the Lakeview Trail Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
Lacey Harper, Deputy Director of External Affairs for Governor Jay Inslee, spoke on Governor Jay Inslee’s behalf at the event. Governor Inslee played an instrumental role in helping the city secure federal funding for the project when he served as a Representative for the 1st U.S. Congressional District of which Mountlake Terrace was a part of at the time. The Governor attended a ribbon cutting event for the Interurban Trail in Mountlake Terrace back in 2008 and voiced support for the city’s “future” Lakeview Trail that now links the Interurban with the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center.
The Lakeview Trail includes approximately one mile of non-motorized trail from the Interurban Trail at 228th Street SW to the west end of the 236th Street SW bridge over Interstate 5. It connects to the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center and Freeway Station via Lakeview Drive.
