Mountlake Terrace Garden Club Volunteers
Monument Sign at 236th near I-5
The Mountlake Terrace Garden Club needs volunteers to help plant flowers and beautify the city's planting sites near the library and monument signs. Please call Bonnie Mercer, President, if you're able to donate a few hours on a Saturday morning -- even if only once per year. Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Brighton School Students
A group of sixth grade students from the Brighton School completed a volunteer project at Hall Creek. Clara Guyot, a sixth grade student at Brighton School, coordinated with the Recreation and Parks Department to have her class complete a project pulling weeds and picking up litter along Hall Creek near Lake Ballinger. Clara and her group, part of the Brighton School Destination Imagination Team, made a presentation to her class discussing the project and its benefits. This project, which was entered in a school competition, helped the city stay in compliance with the Hall Creek Culvert Removal Project.
Earth Day Park Clean Up
Volunteers pulled invasive weeds along Hall Creek, cleaned up brush and picked up litter at Ballinger Park in honor of Earth Day. Each year, the city asks for help to take on a park project to commemorate Earth Day. In 2015, about 65 new and returning residents and friends helped out and were served lunch by the Mountlake Terrace City Council at Ballinger Clubhouse.
The 2016 Earth Day Park Clean Up will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 9:00 a.m. For more information, please contact Ken Courtmanch at (425) 776-1811 or email@example.com.
Volunteer Boards & Commissions
