At its annual appreciation breakfast, the City of Mountlake Terrace recognized employees for years of service, outstanding accomplishments, and providing excellent public service over the past year.
At its annual appreciation breakfast, the City of Mountlake Terrace recognized employees for years of service, outstanding accomplishments, and providing excellent public service over the past year.“In addition to the daily services we provide, this year we are celebrating our employees helping to get our community back on track financially and working together with residents on the Civic Campus project resulting in the passage of Proposition 1,” stated City Manager Scott Hugill. “Employees have really stepped up to take on extra duties and new roles as well as provide services with fewer staff.”“Customer Service Awards” are given to employees who consistently think of the customer first. “Customer Service Awards” were awarded to Code Enforcement Officer Rob Jenkins and Construction Inspector Tom Moehrle.
“Day After Day Excellence Awards” are given to employees who demonstrate excellence, volunteer to help others including other departments when possible, and perform above and beyond the call of duty with a positive attitude. “Day After Day Excellence Awards” were awarded to Parks Maintenance Worker II Kevin Harris, Police Sergeant Scott King, Finance Technician Myrna Osborne, and Executive Assistant Leslie Lavoie.
“Extra Mile Awards” are given to employees who consistently perform above and beyond the call of duty to provide exceptional programs and services to the community. “Extra Mile Awards” were awarded to Recreation Leader II Jenny Mathison, Civil Engineer Roth Seng and Police Sergeant Kevin Pickard.
“Innovation Awards” are given to employees who are always ready to not only share ideas, but also help implement a new process, improve productivity, or take a project or practice from good to great. “Innovation Awards” were awarded to Recreation Leader II Jean Denton, GIS Specialist Darryl Greer, and Police Officer Jeremy Perry.
Special Recognition Awards were presented this year to Management Analyst Leslie Choate, Acting Community & Economic Development (CED) Director Edith Duttlinger, and City Clerk/Community Relations Director Virginia Olsen for taking on additional duties and roles, voluminous public records requests, and the Civic Campus community process and ballot measure.
Police Department Employee of the Year Award went to Sergeant Matt Porter. Additionally, years of service awards were presented to Pete Caw, Deputy Police Chief (30 years), Edith Duttlinger, Acting CED Director (30 years), Jeremy Gardner, Maintenance Worker II (25 years), Tracy Dunmire, Police Officer (20 years), Cari Wieben, Clerk I in Recreation (20 years), and Mary Walters, Recreation Specialist (20 years).
“Thanks to the residents for supporting the 2016 levy to pay for Interim City Hall rent and the recent Civic Campus bond measure, stated Community Relations Director Virginia Olsen. “With the levy revenue, we are able to fill staff vacancies and pay for Interim City Hall rent while we work with the community to design and then construct our new City Hall and Police Station expansion. It’s a pleasure to work in such a supportive and friendly community!”
