Advisory Boards and Commissions

Volunteer members of the City’s advisory boards and commissions offer their knowledge and experience to inform and advise the City Council on a variety of issues. They also help organize community events such as National Night Out, the Arts of the Terrace Juried Art Show, and other fun projects! Their influence helps shape the community.

Most boards and commission meetings are held monthly on a regularly scheduled night and time, and are open to the public. Each year beginning on July 1 or as vacancies occur, the City recruits members to fill vacant positions. Applicants must be bonafide residents of Mountlake Terrace and able to regularly attend meetings.

Serving on a board or commission requires a personal commitment and applicants should consider their ability to commit their time and personal energy before applying. Potential applicants are encouraged to sit in on monthly meetings.

Although board and commission members receive no financial compensation, members benefit from being able to meet other residents with similar interests, learn about the City, and help shape the future of Mountlake Terrace!

To find out more about a specific board or commission, please visit the individual web pages below.
