Animal Control

Animal Control serves the Citizens of Mountlake Terrace by protecting the health and safety of pets, the safety of the public, and by enforcing the city’s municipal codes.  The Animal Control Officer primarily responds to 911 dispatched calls.  These calls generally involve; barking/noise complaints, stray dogs, dog bites, injured or dead animals in the roadway, and animal abuse or neglect cases. 

If you wish to request service for a non-emergency question, you can go to MLT Anytime, or you may leave a voice mail at 425-744-6256, and the Animal Control Officer will respond when available.  Currently, Animal Control works 20 hours on varied days during the week.  Any immediate or ongoing situation requiring an officer’s presence must be reported to 911.

Animals that are taken into custody by officers are held at Adix Bed & Bath for Dogs & Cats at 21100 72nd Av W, Edmonds, 425-778-1475
Please note: Impound fees must be paid at the Police Department prior to regaining your animal. Pet licensing is required in Mountlake Terrace. 

If you have lost an animal, you may leave a message for the Animal Control Officer at 425-744-6256.  If you have found an animal, please call 911.
