The City of Mountlake Terrace is in the process of implementing its Arts and Cultural Plan. The planning process encouraged public involvement in a variety of ways, including educating and surveying the community about the future of our cultural services and public art programs. The plan is a working document that will guide both day-to-day and long-range decision-making.
What It Is
This plan reflects our city’s vision of a vibrant arts community that responds to the needs and desires of our residents, friends, and visitors for Arts shows, opportunities, and classes, as well as arts in the parks and throughout our city. This plan is visionary because it looks at where we are now, what the anticipated needs are for the future, and how we can improve and upgrade our current art programs.
Why We're Doing This — Purpose
The City of Mountlake Terrace is looking at the current strengths, challenges, needs, and priorities of our community, as well as possible opportunities for growth in the future.
The purpose of the Arts and Cultural Plan is to create a clear and concise set of goals, policies, and objectives that will provide direction for our City’s future growth. It is a comprehensive, long-range plan that will provide a foundation for strategic actions that will shape Mountlake Terrace’s Arts programs and art within the city over the next twenty years.
