In June 2007 the City of Mountlake Terrace hired the firm of Moore Iacofano Goltsman, Inc. (MIG) to develop our Recreation, Parks, and Open Space Master Plan. MIG has a proven track record in developing long range parks and recreation plans, including extensive experience with assessing community and facility needs, trail planning, recreation programs, maintenance and operations and familiarity with funding options including state and federal grant requirements.
The MIG approach to assessing park and facility needs centers around an accurate sampling of community values, interests, and recreation participation levels. Their survey data is then supplemented with input from user groups, public meetings, and providers of recreation services. We will then analyze the information we collect and prepare a set of goals and objectives, then begin to conceptual plans and options for strategic changes over the next 5 to 20 years.
