Utilities
The City of Mountlake Terrace provides water, sewer and storm water utilities within the city limits, and bills every other month for these services.

City Utilities
The City provides water service 24 hours a day, currently supplying nearly 2 million gallons per day of high quality drinking water to more than 5,800 homes and businesses. The Utilities Program within the Administrative Service Department is committed to providing timely and accurate billings, collecting payments fairly and equitably, and meeting customer needs for information for service, information and occasional leniency during hard times.

Solid Waste Services
Through a contract with the City, Waste Management Northwest provides solid waste pickup and recycling services in Mountlake Terrace. Solid waste pickup service is mandated by ordinance in order to avoid the accumulation of debris on property. Garbage and recycling are collected on all weekday holidays except Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in Nov), Dec 25, and Jan 1.

Utility Financial Assistance
If you are in need of financial assistance to reduce utility fees or to cover the cost of solid waste collection, you may apply for the City's Senior Discount and Solid Waste Exemption Programs. Click here for qualification information and an application form.

Payment Arrangements
 

Payment arrangements, which will not eliminate late fees, may be made with an email request to Utility Billing, in person at City Hall, or by phone. Please include your account number in the subject line of your email.
Change or Cancel Service
 

If you wish to close an account contact Utility Billing. If selling, please have the name of the escrow company ready when you call. Estimated final bills are based on past usage and will not be adjusted for under or over payment.

WEBCHECK UTILITY LEIN SERVICE
Washington state law requires title and escrow companies to contact cities and other local governments about utility liens when a property is sold. As a utility service provider, the City of Mountlake Terrace contracts with the Webcheck Canopy, Inc. service.
