It is the policy of the Mountlake Terrace Police Department, in partnership with local businesses, to put together community resource and supply bags containing food, non-food items, pamphlets/brochures with information about local shelters, housing assistance, treatment and mental health programs that will be stored in first responder vehicles. The contents of the bags will be distributed to members of the community who are in need of such supplies and services. Additionally, these items can be used to build rapport and/or build trust and quality relationships with citizens. Check out this video to hear a Sergeant further explain how the program works.
The City of Mountlake Terrace hosts National Night Out every year on the second Tuesday in August. Coordinated by City staff and volunteers, and fully funded by local donations, this multi-award winning event is completely free to the public.
This is a free program that encourages people to keep an eye on their neighborhood while they are out walking their pet. There is no registration or time commitment. We only ask that if you encounter something suspicious, that you let us know. Safety first, we never want you to get involved, only to tell us what you see. Pets get a free scarf. Available at the Police Station.
If you have neighborhood concerns, contact us to schedule a meeting. You can request Police Department representatives attend your meeting to provide information and answer questions.
