The Mountlake Terrace City Council is seeking interested citizens to serve on the Pro and Con Statement Committees to prepare written arguments for the Voters’ Pamphlet supporting or opposing approval of Proposition No. 1 on the August 2, 2016 primary election ballot.
The City Council will be considering an ordinance at its May 2 meeting that would seek voter approval for a levy lid lift beginning in 2017 to fund lease payments at Interim City Hall, support funding of recreation and parks, and rebuild the General Fund balance.
Portions of the levy for lease payment and General Fund balance would be in place for four years. Funding for recreation and parks would continue beyond four years.
Individuals interested in serving in this capacity must submit their name, address and telephone number to Virginia Olsen, City Clerk and Community Relations Director. This information must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on May 6, 2016 at this address or email:

The City Council will consider those citizens who express interest in serving on the Pro and Con Statement Committees and make appointments at their May 12 work/study session.
Following appointment, the Pro and Con Statement Committee member names will be submitted to Snohomish County Elections Office on May 13. The Committee members must submit their Pro and Con statements for the Voter Pamphlets to Snohomish County Elections by May 24, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. and rebuttal statements by May 27, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
